Picture of Harry

Hi. My name is Harry, I'm a Guide Dog Puppy in Training and this is my Blog.

Atherton Appeal

Harry supported Guide Dogs' appeal to equip the brand new training school for the North of England at Atherton. He was keen to help as he was to be one of the first puppies to train at the new school.

Harry was at the launch of the appeal on 7th October 2008 where he got to meet the Press. One of the newspaper articles can be seen here.

Another milestone

Harry has always liked water, even when he was tiny he loved splashing around in puddles, but when we’ve walked him by the river or a lake, he’s never done anything more than paddle.

That changed earlier this week. We’d been for a walk in the woods, and as usual Harry had managed to cover himself with mud. As we were so close to the river we took him down so he could paddle around and rinse off the bulk of it. He was having a great time chasing the fallen leaves floating on the surface, when he spotted one way out of his reach. Suddenly he was off, swimming after it as if he’d been swimming all his life, then just as quickly he was back on the small beach, very proudly showing off his prize.

It all happened so quickly that there was no time for photographs, only this one as we walked back, still in shock, across the bridge.
